Garden City Beach is located south of Surfside Beach, and borders Murrells Inlet to the North. The beach town community of about 10,000 spans approximately five and a half miles of land. Here, the picturesque, serpentine inlet meets the ocean, affording spectacular vistas and delighting birdwatchers and nature lovers. The area abounds with opportunities for fishing, crabbing, surfing, and other watersports.
Despite its name, Garden City Beach is not an incorporated city. It caters to those who favor beach houses and condominiums over resorts or hotels, which lends the area a more private, and less hectic pace than other areas along the Grand Strand. The small resort town has a quiet, family friendly vibe. Many people choose this part of the Grand Strand for an investment property, as it’s close to the hustle and bustle of Myrtle Beach, without being a direct part of the action.
The Garden City Pavilion Arcade entertains families, and there are an abundance of restaurants serving fresh seafood. For those who prefer to enjoy a daily catch over their backyard grill, there are a multitude of local seafood markets.
