Jim Parker is the Co-Owner of Real Living and Broker-in-Charge at Real Living Home Realty Group and The Coastal Insider. In 1983 he entered into the real estate industry in the Myrtle Beach area and hasn’t looked back since. Jim thrives on the opportunity to encourage his team to take chances and dream big. On any day you will most likely see him surrounded with our team, collaborating new and exciting ways to educate and connect our community.
His commitment to hard work and dedication to success began in Camden, SC. There, he worked tediously on his family’s 200-acre farm. Jim has never deterred from hard work, and by age of 15, in addition to working on the family farm, he began working at a recycling center; chopping wood in the wintertime for his family and community; and delivering the Camden Chronicle to local businesses in the area.
From 1978 to 1983, Jim served in the U.S. Air Force at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base before beginning his real estate career. In 1983, Jim purchased the agency he was working for and turned it into a general brokerage, Parker Realty, Inc. Three years later, Jim started Commercial Landtec Corporation, before partnering with John Jobson in 1993.
For nearly 27 years, Jim and John have developed and transformed countless businesses along the Grand Strand including: Real Living Home Realty Group, Commercial Landtec, Palm Shores Development Corporation, Site Tech Systems, The Coastal Insider, and Coastal Lifestyle Homes, Ltd. Serving the community has been Jim’s life’s work and he’s not done yet!
Jim Parker was born in Camden, SC. He started at age 8 on his family’s 200 acre farm and the neighboring farm. He fed cows, chickens, pigs, baled hay, harvested corn up until he was 18. At age 12 he co-signed for a Ditch Witch to dig trenches in rural Camden and Bethune with his dad. At age 15 he was doing everything he was doing at age 8, plus working at the recycling center after school from 4PM-12AM, chopping wood in the wintertime for the family and community; and delivered the Camden Chronicle newspapers to businesses in the area. From 1978 to 1983, Jim served in the U.S. Air Force at the Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. In 1983 Jim entered the real estate industry in the Myrtle Beach area and in 1985 purchased the realty company he was working for turning it into the general brokerage division of Parker Realty, Inc. Jim started Commercial Landtec Corporation in 1988 and acquired John Jobson as a partner in 1993. A few years later Jim and John founded Palm Shores Development Corporation and Coastal Lifestyle Homes, Ltd. which is currently operating today in the Waterford Oaks community in Garden City, SC. In 2001 both Jim and John formed Site Tech Systems, a company specializing in geographic information systems (GIS), information technology and customer service through the utilization of demographics, environmental studies, zoning information, traffic counts, aerial photography, etc. He currently is the broker-in-charge for Real Living Home Realty Group and the co-owner of The Coastal Insider. He is someone who we all look up to and strive to be like on a daily basis. Real Living – Home Realty Group would not be what it is today without having him as the captain of our team. We can hear his laugh from a mile away and will always get a smile on our face from it. Working here and alongside Jim Parker, you can truly feel the love and family atmosphere he strives for.
As Co-owner of Real Living and The Coastal Insider, John Jobson’s role takes on a higher meaning and a deeper level. Not only is he a valued leader, but a mentor and confidante, assisting us with anything causing us strife, advising us on how to proceed with conflict or just listening.
John Jobson was born in Augusta, Georgia and raised in North Augusta, South Carolina. He came to Myrtle Beach by chance when he was recruited to work for a real estate and golf development company to design, build and sell new communities.
Soon thereafter, John and Jim knew that together they could go far. Since partnering with Jim Parker and 1993, he has focused on commercial land and development projects with Commercial Landtec Corp, a commercial and land brokerage and Palm Shores Development, Corp that operates a large manufactured home community in Garden City.
When John isn’t at work he is spending time with his lovely wife Mary, to whom he has been married for over 45 years! Together they have a beautiful daughter and 4 grandsons. They go as often as they can to visit them in Nashville. When John asks us how we are doing, he is not just asking to be nice, he genuinely cares and wants to know. John is not only a valued leader in our company, but also in our community as a Deacon at Pawleys Island Community Church. His leadership and guidance provide our company with the balance and direction needed to succeed.

I grew up in Myrtle Beach. I have seen continued growth along the Grand Strand and I am proud to be a part of this ever-evolving community because this area is where I am going to be for forever.
I am a graduate of The College of Charleston with a degree in psychology. After obtaining my degree, I returned home and decided to promote my city. I enjoy encouraging and assisting people who wish to move here. I also love working with other natives who wish to relocate to different areas around the Grand Strand.
As a Real Estate Agent, I love making people’s dreams come true. I connect with my clients and support them throughout the entire process; they become like family to me, and I make them my top priority. At the end of the day, everything we do is about helping other people by building strong relationships.”
I have been a Realtor for nearly 20 years. After moving to Myrtle Beach from Baltimore, Maryland I knew I had found my new home. Having relocated here myself, I understand that there is no bigger, nor more stressful decision that people can make in life than the investment of buying or selling homes. I help guide my clients before, during and after this intense process.
Helping people from near and far find amazing properties on the Grand Strand is what motivates me. The relationships I’ve built with the many people I’ve met along the way are priceless and they’ve become like family to me. Some refer to Myrtle Beach as a location of smiling faces and beautiful places and I can confidently say: that is absolutely true.
I have over 35 years of experience as a real estate sales professional, which translates to enormous success for my buyers and sellers. I approach my business and communication with my clients according to my winning “Golden Rule” attitude. That is, I treat everyone as I would want to be treated. I am 100% committed and focused on helping my clients navigate through the delicate process of transition and/or relocation.
My faith in God is very important to me. It is the true standard from which everything evolves. It’s always about placing professional ethics above personal profit and building and cultivating relationships that can be trusted.
I started my real estate career in southern New Jersey in 1985. After relocating to the south of Boston in 1990, I excelled in my real estate career for twenty-five years. Now as a resident of sunny Myrtle Beach, I enjoy the coastal urban boutique setting of the Market Common.
